Register Your Beer

Register online from June 11 – July 1. This competition is capped at 100 entries, so don’t wait to register! Brewers may enter one beer per beer style. The entry fee is $6 for each beer; PayPal is required to make your entry payment.

Drop off Your Beer

For each entry, submit 2 12-oz. bottles with a bottle ID form (printed from the registration site after you register) attached to each bottle using rubber bands (do NOT tape or glue forms onto the bottles). Bottles should have no labels or other identifying markings aside from the bottle ID form. If there are designs or writing on your bottle caps, black them out with a marker.

Between June 17 – July 1, you can drop off your bottles at one of 6 locations or ship them to WineCrafters (they must arrive by July 1).

Local drop-off locations (during normal business hours):

Collect Awards and Score Sheets

Judging will take place on July 11 by BJCP-certified judges, using the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines. Judging is closed to the public.

Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on opening day of the El Paso County Fair, July 15. Ribbons will be awarded in each category – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. There will also be a Best of Show award, however, only El Paso County residents will be eligible for this award.

If you cannot attend the awards ceremony, ribbons and score sheets will be mailed to you.

Volunteer to Help With the Competition

We’re looking for judges and stewards to help run the competition on July 11. You can register as a volunteer online. Judges should be BJCP certified or working toward their BJCP certification. No experience is required to steward — it’s a great way to learn about judging beer!
